Update July 2024:

Beginning in the winter of 2023, the Provincial Health System Workforce Task Team set out on an engagement tour to collect feedback from health staff, key partners, and the public to inform health workforce strategy in support of Action for Health(External link).

The goal of the engagement tour was to learn more about the challenges and opportunities surrounding recruitment, redesign and retention of the provincial health workforce.

An extensive survey was conducted, coupled with insightful in-person conversations with health staff from across the province.

Virtual meetings took place with key partners within government, health organizations, academia, unions, associations, equity groups and others.

Lastly, a public feedback tool was launched to gather innovative ideas from Nova Scotians and people across the globe.

The invaluable feedback gathered from these interactions are summarized in the What We Heard Report. A copy of this report can be found on the right-hand side of this page.

*Engagement activities to inform the provincial plan to recruit, retain and redesign health workforce in Nova Scotia have now closed.*

Thank you to all participants for sharing your time, expertise and valuable feedback!
