Nova Scotia Health’s Public Engagement team has begun our second organization-wide evaluation of patient and public engagement and the Patient Family Advisor (PFA) experience. This work follows on Nova Scotia Health’s engagement evaluation in 2020, which informed the development of our Engagement Policy (2021), the 2022 PFA Evaluation, and guided the Public Engagement team’s work to update our internal resources and training, and improve our communication about engagement supports.
We are asking leaders and staff teams from across the organization to share successes and challenges in bringing patients and the public into planning, decisions, and actions. If you work directly with PFAs as part of your role, or if you are a PFA yourself, you will have the opportunity to provide insights on your experience in the same survey.
Your feedback will inform ongoing continuous improvement as an organization; evaluating the consistency and effectiveness of Nova Scotia Health’s patient and public engagement efforts and ensuring the usefulness of the resources, training opportunities and services our team offers. Feedback shared on the PFA evaluation will help to create an assessment of what is working well and what can be improved in the PFA program.
By participating in this evaluation, you help Nova Scotia Health deliver on our commitments to people-centered care, public accountability and operational excellence.
